The Matchbox Fitness Center

ABOUT

The Matchbox Fitness Center provides 21,000 square feet of space to support Swarthmore College's recreation and wellness needs. The opening of the facility in Fall 2014 reflects the College's commitment not only to the wellness of the campus community, but to environmental sustainability. The Matchbox is an inclusive, non-discriminatory facility designed for the use of the entire Swarthmore College community. Who has access to the Athletics facilities?
Swarthmore College students, faculty, and staff have access to these facilities. Also, spouses and partners of current employees and dependents (between the ages of 16-26) of current employees have access. Retired staff, emeritus faculty, and alumni may also use these facilities. Please note that everyone accessing Athletic facilities must have an active OneCard and sign a waiver; if you are not a current student, faculty member, or staff member, please follow the instructions below to obtain a OneCard.

How do I access the Athletics facilities?
Current Swarthmore College students, faculty, and staff must visit mySwarthmore to complete the Athletic Facilities Waiver found in the Personal Information section. Faculty and staff may also list spouses, partners, and dependents on their waiver through mySwarthmore.

Alumni, retired staff, and emeritus faculty must visit the OneCard Office at Parrish Hall (131A) to complete the Athletic Facilities Waiver and request a OneCard. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

RESERVATIONS
The Matchbox has three levels for use by Swarthmore College community:
  • Lower level, including the Lewis-Reynolds Athletic Performance Room
  • Main level, including the Fitness Center
  • Upper level, including the Tarble Commons and the Wellness Lounge

Students, Staff and Faculty Usage - Please use SwatCentral reservation system to request the use of the athletic spaces. Space requests are not final until confirmation is received via email. NoteAcademic classes and varsity athletics take precedence over athletic space, when necessary.
