Cross Country Teams, Individuals Honored by USTFCCCA for Academic Success
NEW ORLEANS - The Swarthmore College cross country teams received a slew of awards from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their performance on the trail and in the classroom this past season. Each team earned 2011 Division III All-Academic Cross Country status while senior Melissa Frick and junior Jacob Phillips were named to the USTFCCCA 2011 NCAA Division III All-Academic Cross Country Teams for the their respective programs.

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Freshmen Jorin Schug (59th/22:26.00) and Erick White (60th/22:28.00/pictured) finished neck-and-neck as the top runners for the Swarthmore College men’s cross country team at the Haverford Invitational. Senior Henry Ainley was the next Swarthmore runner to complete the four-mile course in 76th with a time of 23:15.00.

Cross Country Teams Host Alumni Meet
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Three juniors led the Swarthmore men's cross country team to victory over the alumni for the third year in a row on Saturday afternoon from the Crum Woods. The men won 17-46, as Aidan DuMont-McCaffrey, John McMinn, and Jacob Phillips all crossed the finish line with identical times of 13:12. The fastest alum, Ross Weller '08, finished just one second behind.

Rose Named to the USTFCCCA 2010 NCAA Division III All-Academic Cross Country Team
NEW ORLEANS - Junior Hannah Rose of the Swarthmore women's cross country team was named to the USTFCCCA 2010 NCAA Division III All-Academic Cross Country Team for the 2010 cross country season on Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Rose finished 22nd overall with a time of 23:12 in the NCAA Mideast Regionals meet in November.

Six Swarthmore Student-Athletes Named to Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team
Lancaster, Pa. - Six Swarthmore student-athletes have been named to the 2010 Fall All-Centennial Sportsmanship Team, the Conference announced on Wednesday morning. The Centennial Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) established the All-Sportsmanship team in 2007. Each team elected a member from their squad who displayed good sportsmanship throughout the season to be selected to the All-Centennial sportsmanship team.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Sophomore Hannah Rose led the pack for the Swarthmore College women's cross country team, coming in 17th place with a time of 24:27.43 to help the Garnet earn a fifth-place team finish (39) at the Centennial Conference championship on Saturday afternoon from Gettysburg College. Johns Hopkins defended its women’s title while Emily Lipman of Haverford won the women’s individual title (22:40.66).

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - Sophomore Hannah Rose (19:06) crossed the finish-line in fourth place and senior Lauren Deluca took ninth (19:44) as the Swarthmore College women's cross country team finished in third place at the 28th-Annual Seven Sisters Championship from Mount Holyoke College on Saturday morning. For their Top 10 finish, both Rose and DeLuca were named to the All-Championship team.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - For the second consecutive meet, sophomore Hannah Rose was the top finisher for the Swarthmore women's cross country team, finishing in 75th place with a time of 23:18 to pace the Garnet at the Women's Brown Race at the Paul Short Run on Friday afternoon from the campus of Lehigh University. As a team, the Garnet finished in 31st place with a total of 713 points in the 6K run.
