Frick's All-Region Performance Leads Women's Cross Country to 13th Place at NCAA Mideast Regionals

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -  Led by senior Melissa Frick's impressive 17th-place finish (23:39), the Swarthmore College women's cross country team took 13th place at the NCAA Mideast Regional tournament  on Saturday afternoon from DeSales University.

Frick's finish was good enough to earn her a spot on the All-Region team and gives her an outside shot at an at-large selection to the NCAA National meet; at-large selections to the national meet will be announced on Sunday afternoon.

Rounding out the top six for Swarthmore were seniors Stephanie Beebe (65th/24:46), Katie Gonzalez (96th/25:26), Margret Lenfest (120th/25:46), sophomore Emma Saarel (133rd/25:59), and senior Amanda Eng (140th/26:02).

Out of the 47 competing teams, Johns Hopkins took first place with 78 points, followed by Dickinson and Elizabeth town with 99 and 108 points, respectively.
