Madison Heppe Named Centennial Conference Player of the Week
LANCASTER, Pa. – Swarthmore College freshman libero Madison Heppe has been named the Centennial Conference volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending on September 16, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Heppe was named the Stevens Ducks Classic tournament Most Valuable Player as the Garnet went 4-0 to claim the team title. A key defensive asset for the Garnet, Heppe is the first freshman in program history to earn tournament MVP honors.
In the tournament, she averaged 4.91 digs per set. Heppe had 4 reception errors on 73 serve receive attempts for a .945 serve reception efficiency percentage, as a primary passer. She also collected five assists, two kills and three aces in the four matches.
Heppe leads the team defense averaging 4.86 digs per set on the season.
The Garnet will return to action on Wednesday, September 19th as Centennial Conference play begins. Swarthmore goes on the road to meet Ursinus College for a 7:00 p.m. matchup.
