Men's Soccer, Volleyball Teams Advance to ECAC Semifinals; Host Information Available

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – After victories Wednesday evening, the Swarthmore College men's soccer and volleyball teams have advanced to the semifinals of the ECAC South Regional Championships.

With its penalty kick advancement past Frostburg State on Wednesday evening, the No. 4 Garnet will travel Saturday to Alvernia University to play top-seeded Alvernia at 4:00 p.m. With a win, Swarthmore will play the victor of the No. 2 Medaille vs. No. 3 Marywood game in the Championship, which be help on Sunday at Alvernia, with the opening tap taking place at 2:00 p.m.

The No. 3 Garnet volleyball team moved on with a 3-1 (25-17, 23-25, 25-15, 25-16) rout over Delaware Valley College. The Garnet now travels to Bethany, West Virginia this weekend to face No. 2 Bethany in the semis, starting at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Championship game will be held that same day at 5:00 p.m., with the Garnet-Bison winner facing the winner of the No. 8 Saint Vincent-No. 2 Moravian match.
