Swarthmore College Women’s Track Competes at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA — The Swarthmore College women's track and field team competed at the historic Penn Relays, held at Franklin Field on the University of Pennsylvania campus on Thursday night.       

Senior Melissa Frick ran the third fastest 10k in school history with a time of 37:22.05. The time placed her 18th overall in a field which featured many of the top distance runners nationally from Divisions I, II, and III. Also, the 4 x 400m relay team of Kenyetta Givans, Stephanie Beebe, Ruth Talbot, and Rebecca Hammond ran the second fastest time in school history (4:00.90) finishing third in the Centennial/MAC heat.

The Garnet will next compete at TCNJ this weekend, before heading to the Centennial Conference Championships, held May 4-6 at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa.
