Rebecca Hammond 15th at NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships
DELAWARE, Ohio - Sophomore Rebecca Hammond finished sixth in her heat and 15th overall at the NCAA Division III 2011 Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 800 meter run.
Hammond, who two weeks ago broke the school record in the event, finished in 2:14.00, just 56-hundreths of a second off of her pace at the Tupppany Twilight Last Chance Meet hosted at the College.
The Garnet's lone representative at the Championships, Hammond, who was ranked 19th of the 22 qualifiers in the event, was impressive in her first appearance in an NCAA Championship meet.
Junior Keelie Finnel of Coe won the heat in a time of 2:09.48.
