Carlson Named Centennial Conference Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - Sophomore Lia Carlson of the Swarthmore College women's tennis team has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week for the week ending April 3, the Conference announced on Tuesday.

Carlson went 4-0 over singles and doubles action last week, routing her opponents by an impressive 24-4 advantage in singles and 16-5 in doubles.  She paired up with Emily Rosenblum at No. 1 doubles to started the week off by taking down Washington College's McNicol/Cohen, 8-3.  Carlson went on to win 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles as well.  Carlson, now ranked number 5 in the Atlantic South region, and Rosenblum earned an 8-2 win over Gettysburg's O'Sullivan/Rodriguez. Carlson then defeated Rodriguez at number one by a score of 6-2, 6-0.

The Garnet (5-2, 4-0) return to action today at Ursinus.
