Davis Earns All-America Honors, Breaks 100 Fly Record Twice
INDIANAPOLIS - Freshman Supriya Davis of the Swarthmore women's swim team became an All-American for the first time in her college career on Thursday, finishing 10th in the 100 butterfly at the Division III Women's Swimming Championships at the IU Natatorium.
Her time of 55.74 is both a Swarthmore and Centennial Conference record.
Davis' All-America honor is the 38th in the history of Swarthmore women's swimming and first since 2010 (Anne Miller '10).
Davis broke her own record for the second time in one day, as she had previously qualified for the finals by swimming a college and conference record 55.91 in the morning prelims.
She looks to become a two-time All-American tomorrow in the 200 butterfly, where she is seeded sixth (2:03.88).
