Streaking Women's Swimming Tops Washington College 123-77

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Swarthmore women's swimming team (6-1, 4-1) kept its 2012 undefeated streak alive on Wednesday evening in Chestertown, powering past the Washington College Shorewomen (3-6, 1-4) by a score of 123-77.

The Swarthmore women were dominant throughout the entire meet, only ceding first place in two events - the 200 breaststroke and the 400 freestyle relay. For the Washington College Shorewomen, sophomore Ellie Miskiel led the way with the team's lone individual event victory with a blazing time of 2:32.73.

The Garnet was led by freshmen Supriya Davis, who dominated in the 500 freestyle (5:18.83) and the 1000 freestyle (10:47.64) , and Kate Wiseman, who had statement victories in the 50 freestyle (24.96) and the 100 freestyle (54.19).

Other double winners were sophomores Rebecca Teng, claiming the 200 IM (2:17.60) and the 200 backstroke (2:17.24), and Erin Lowe, who won the 200 freestyle with the quick time of 2:04.25 as well as the strenuous 200 butterfly with a time of 2:16.76.

The team's win tonight demonstrates that they are one of the teams to beat in the Centennial Conference. The Garnet face its next challenge against conference opponent Gettysburg this Saturday at Ware Pool. The Senior Day meet is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
