Davis Earns B Cut in 100 Fly to Lead Garnet Women at Rowan Invite

GLASSBORO, N.J. - Freshman Supriya Davis earned an NCAA national "B" cut time in 100 fly (57.55) to lead the Swarthmore College women's swimming team's impressive performance at the Rowan Invite on Saturday.

Davis' time in the 100 fly is just .9 seconds off of Anne Miller's college record and just 1.5 seconds off the Centennial Conference record.

Davis took first in the 100 fly, one of her three wins on day to go along with 400 IM (4:44.53), and 200 butterfly (2:11.27).

Fellow freshman Kate Wiseman also put forth a strong performance, leading the field in the 100 freestyle (55.27).  Wiseman also finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.12) and third in the 200 IM (2:19.14)

Davis and Wiseman teamed up with sophomores Rebecca Teng and Erin Lowe to touch first in all four relays throughout the two-session meet, taking the 200 medley (1:53.47), 400 freestyle (3:47.10), 400 medley (4:11.84), and 200 freestyle (1:42.84) races.

Other notable swims came from Teng (3rd, 100 backstroke, 1:04.35; 2nd, 200 backstroke, 2:17.12; 2nd, 200 breaststroke, 2:34.68), Lowe (4th, 200 IM, 2:23.38; 2nd, 200 butterfly, 2:16.13), sophomore Margaret Regan (3rd, 500 free, 5:34.37; 3rd, 100 breaststroke, 1:12.43; 3rd, 400 IM, 4:52.14; 3rd, 200 breaststroke, 2:39.85), freshman Katie Warren (4th, 50 free, 27.69), sophomore Lauren Sibeck (3rd, 100 butterfly, 1:06.00), and senior Naomi Glassman (4th, 200 butterfly, 2:25.66).

Ware Pool sees its first meet of the year on Tuesday, as Swarthmore returns to Centennial Conference competition, hosting Ursinus.  Action will begin at 6 pm.
