F&M Tops Women's Swimming, 152-110
LANCASTER, Pa. - Despite another fast meet from the class of '15, the Swarthmore College women's swim team suffered its first setback of the season on Saturday, falling to the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats by a 152-110 score.
The Garnet touched first in the opening 200 medley relay (1:52.75) on the strength of sophomores Rebecca Teng and Margaret Regan and freshmen Supriya Davis and Kate Wiseman. The meet turned into an uphill battle afterwards, however, as the Diplomats' depth allowed them to rack up points in every event.
Swarthmore did take the top spot in six of the 12 individual events; Davis won the 200 freestyle (1:59.80) and 200 butterfly (2:11.27), Wiseman won the 50 (24.87) and 100 (55.06) freestyles and the 200 IM (2:16.49), and sophomore Erin Lowe scored the top spot in the 100 butterfly (1:02.33).
The schedule continues next Saturday at the Rowan Invite.
