Megan Brock Named to 2012 NSCAA College Division Scholar All-Region Team
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Thanks to her efforts in both the classroom and on the field, Megan Brock '14 of the Swarthmore College women's soccer team has been named to the NSCAA College Division Scholar All-East Region Team.
Brock is a second-team selection. The honor comes less than month after she was named to the NSCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team for her play on the field.
To be considered, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to their team; and be a junior or above in academic standing at the current institution. The committee reviews both the academic and athletic accomplishments of the nominees. The college division is comprised of all Non-DI collegiate women's soccer players in the east region.
A native of Long Beach, Calif, Brock was the Garnet's top midfielder for the 2012 season. She finished the season with four goals and two assists, both of which rank fourth on the team. Brock's biggest goal of the season came in a 1-0 victory over conference-rival Dickinson, which solidified the Garnet's spot in the Centennial playoffs.
