Women's Soccer Releases 2012 Schedule

Swarthmore, Pa. – The Swarthmore College women's soccer team released its 2012 schedule on Thursday, featuring the return of the Swat Kick Classic and 11 of 17 games at Clothier Field.

Again, the Garnet has challenged itself with a difficult non-conference schedule that features opponents with a combined .614 winning percentage from a year ago.  Swarthmore begins the campaign in the opener of the Kick Classic against the 2011 regular season Freedom Conference champion Misericordia on Friday, August 31 and will turn around to host Wellesley in the finale two days later.

The Garnet welcomes Widener, on Wednesday, September 5 in the annual 320-Challenge match before beginning Centennial Conference play at Franklin & Marshall on September 15.

Dickinson travels to Clothier Field on Saturday, September 22 for the Centennial home-opener with other home highlights including a non-conference clash against the 2012 CSAC Champion and NCAA participant Cabrini College on September 27th.  A battle with the Gettysburg Bullets on Saturday, October 6 in a rematch of last year's Centennial Semifinal and a head-to-head with Lancaster Bible, an 18-2-1 side a year ago that won the NEAC and competed in the NCAA Tournament, on October 15.

The Garnet concludes the 2012 regular season with a pair of home games against Tri-Co rivals Bryn Mawr and Haverford.  Bryn Mawr visits under the lights on Wednesday, October 24 at 7:00 and the Fords visit for a mid-afternoon tilt over Garnet Weekend on Saturday, October 27.
