Ross, Sindelar Named to NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team

Kansas City, Kan. - Junior Alexa Ross and freshman Emma Sindelar of the Swarthmore College women's soccer team have been named to the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region team, the organization announced over the weekend. Ross and Sindelar are both third team selections.

Ross (Lincoln, Neb./ Lincoln East) earns her spot on the All-Region team for the first time in her career. A three-time All-Centennial selection and a 2011 first team selection, Ross exceled in the midfield, anchoring Swarthmore's defense and initiating the offense.

Sindelar (Salt Lake City, Utah / Waterford) is one of just two freshmen on the All-Region team, joined by Hannah Kronick of fellow Centennial member Johns Hopkins. Sindelar is coming off an outstanding freshman campaign in which she led the team in points (25) and goals (11). Distinguishing herself as one of the best forwards in the Centennial Conference, her goal total ranked third in the Centennial for the 2011 season and third all-time for a single season in Swarthmore women's soccer history. For her efforts, she was named to the 2011 All-Centennial Conference First Team.

Swarthmore finished the season at 12-7, reaching the Centennial Conference and ECAC playoffs.
