Annalise Penikis Named Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - Junior Annalise Penikis of the Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.

Penikis scored eight goals and added six assists for 14 points in a 2-0 week for the Garnet (10-4, 4-3). She scored five goals with three assists in the 15-14 win vs. Muhlenberg, including three goals in the final 2:39 and the game-winner with :02 seconds to play. Penikis also tallied a hat trick and three assists in the 15-9 win over Dickinson.

Thanks in part to the play of Penikis, Swarthmore is currently in a three-way tie for third place in the Centennial standings with two games to play, looking to advance to the Centennial playoffs for the first time since 2006.

The Garnet travel to Chestertown to face Washington College tomorrow (7:00 pm) in a critical conference game.
