Katie Lytle Named Centennial Conference Player of the Week
LANCASTER, Pa. - Junior Katie Lytle of the Swarthmore College women's basketball team has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week for the week ending December 9, the conference announced on Monday.
Lytle finished with a double-double in each of the Garnet's three wins last week. The junior averaged 19.3 points and 13.6 rebounds per game for the week, including a week-high 22 points against Washington College and week-high 16 rebounds against Gettysburg. Lytle was particularly proficient at the free-throw line, hitting 21 of 24 attempts (87.5 percent) for the week.
Thanks in part to Lytle, the Garnet are off to a 7-0 start, its best in the Centennial Conference era and best start overall since the 1938-39 season.
