Women's Basketball Releases 2012-13 Schedule
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College's women's basketball team has released its schedule for the 2012-2013 season.
The Garnet opens its season by hosting the Swarthmore Tip Off Tournament, which features games against Chatham on November 17 and either Cabrini or Washington & Lee a day later.
The team will begin in-conference action on November 20 when it goes on the road to face Dickinson. On December 6, the Garnet plays host to its first Centennial Conference opponent as it battles Washington College at Tarble Pavilion.
Over winter holiday, the squad will participate in the prestigious Holiday Inn-Naismith Classic in Springfield, Mass., renowned as the "Birthplace of Basketball". On New Year's Day, the Garnet play host Springfield College. On January 2, the team will face an opponent still to be announced.
After the break, Swarthmore hosts rival Haverford College as it tries to avenge last season's 61-48 Senior Day defeat.
Other conference highlights include a two-game stretch in which the Garnet hosts last year's Centennial champions Muhlenberg on January 30 and then visits Johns Hopkins on February 2nd. Last season, both teams advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
The team ends its 25-game slate as it travels to the Main Line to face Haverford on February 16.
