Kathryn Stockbower Named Centennial Conference Player of the Week for Third Time in 2010-11
LANCASTER, Pa. - For the third time during the 2010-11 women's basketball season, senior Kathryn Stockbower has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week, the organization announced on Monday.
Playing possibly her final games as a member of the Garnet, the senior captain closed out her stellar career by averaging 15.0 points and 18.0 rebounds in a pair of Garnet wins. She shot 48 percent from the field and raised her career double-double total to 83 with 16 points and 14 boards vs. Bryn Mawr and 15 points and 22 rebounds vs. Haverford. Against the rival Fords, she hit a pair of game-clinching free-throws with 9.1 seconds left to play to help seal the game.
This is the third time this season Stockbower has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week, with the previous two coming for the weeks ending December 10 and January 12. She has now been named the CC Player of the Week seven times in her career.
Stockbower is Swarthmore's all-time leading rebounder (1,335) and ranks third in career scoring (1,667).She is also the NCAA Division III leader in career double-doubles.
