Renee Clarke enters her 11th season as head coach of the Garnet.  With 170 victories at Swarthmore, she is winningest coach in program history.

In 2010, Clarke led the Garnet to its fourth Centennial Conference playoff appearance in five seasons, advancing to the championship round for the first time in program history.

Prior to Swarthmore, Clarke served as the head softball coach at Drexel University.  While at Drexel, Clarke earned America East Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2001, guiding the Dragons to a 33-26-1 record. In three seasons at Drexel, Clarke posted a 60-91-1 record.

Prior to Drexel, Clarke spent 10 years as the head softball and field hockey coach at Kean University in Union, N.J. Clarke guided the Cougars to post-season play in five different seasons, making the NCAA Tournament in 1992 and 1995 and winning the ECAC Metro NY-NJ Championship in 1990. Overall, Clarke is the winningest coach in Kean softball history with 192 victories.

Clarke was a four-year letter winner at Rutgers University in both softball and field hockey. She was a four-time Atlantic 10 All-Conference selection in softball, earning first-team All-Northeast Regional honors in 1986. Clarke still holds the Rutgers field hockey record for career saves (634) and saves in a season (289). She was elected to the Rutgers Hall of Fame in 1994. Clarke graduated in 1988 with a bachelor of science in health, physical education, recreation, and dance.

After graduating from Rutgers, Clarke played for the United States National softball team from 1990 to 1992.  In addition to coaching softball, Clarke has assisted the Swarthmore field hockey program and currently oversees facility management at the College.
