Strong Showing for Men's Cross Country at Lehigh's Paul Short Brown Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Competing in the prestigious Paul Short Run from Lehigh University, the Swarthmore College men's cross country team turned in its best performance of the  early season,  placing 12th out of 46 teams in the Brown race (8K) on Friday afternoon.

The Garnet finished the Brown race with 385 points, more than holding its own in a field which included several strong Division I teams.  Swat also came  in just four points behind nationally-ranked Conference rival Johns Hopkins (381).

Overall, the Garnet finished seventh among Division III schools.

Fresh off his first place finish at Dickinson, junior Jacob Phillips led the Garnet once again, placing 10th overall in a fast 25:59.
Junior Aidan DuMont-McCaffrey (26:36), sophomore Robert Fain (26:53), junior John McMinn (26:54), and senior Chris Wickham (27:31) rounded out Swarthmore's Top 5.
The team competes next at the DeSales Invite on October 8.  The race is set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
