Jacob Phillips Wins Dickinson Long Run, Helps Men's Cross Country Team Finish Third

NEWVILLE, Pa. - Junior Jacob Phillips captured first place in the long run (8K) of the Dickinson Long/Short Run with a time of 26:37, besting a field of 184 and leading the Swarthmore College men's cross country team to a third-place finish on Saturday morning from Big Spring High School.

The first-place finish is Phillips' second of the young season, following his first-place tie at the season-opening Bryn Mawr Invitational (6K).

Junior Aidan DuMont-McCaffrey also turned in a Top 10 performance for the Garnet, taking eighth place with a time of 27:06. Sophomore Robert Fain (27:56/30), senior Chris Wickham (28:10/37) and freshman Jonas Oppenheimer (28:26/46)rounded out the Garnet's top five.

With 32 combined team points, Swat finished in third place out of 21 teams - just behind Centennial rivals Johns Hopkins (26) and host Dickinson (27).


Swarthmore returns to action on Friday with the Paul Short Run at Lehigh.
