Strong Performances From Heck & Heo Pace Men's Track & Field at the Seamus McElligott Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Swarthmore College men's track and field team returned to competition on Saturday at the Seamus McElligott Invitational hosted by Haverford College.

Sophomore Jason Heo boasted strong performances on the track, taking fourth-place in the 60-meter (7.48) and fifth-place in the 60-meter hurdles (9.40). His 60-meter mark set a new program record and his 60-meter hurdles time checks as the second-best in the program's top-ten performance list.

Senior Matthew Heck also collected two top-10 finishes – clocking the fifth-best 400-meter time of 52.42 and crossed the line a 24.19 in the 200-meter for ninth-place.

Swarthmore soared in the triple jump event as Zach Krontstat and Travis Mattingly finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Kronstat jumped an even 40-foot finish and Mattingly combined for a 38-foot and 10.50 inch mark.

The Garnet compete next weekend in the two-day Valentine Invitational held at Boston University.
