Men's Track & Field Competes at Richard Stockton Osprey Invitational

Galloway, N.J. - The Swarthmore College men's track & field team continued its preparation for the upcoming Centennial Conference Championships with a solid showing at the Richard Stockton Osprey Invitational on Saturday.

Sophomore Stuart Russell finished in second place in the 5,000 meter run, crossing the finish line in a time of 16:45.83. He was followed by sophomore Nick Witchey, who came in third (17:14.05).

Junior Matthew Heck put together two strong individual showings at the Stockton meet. He finished in fifth place in the 400 meter dash (51.62) and seventh (23.81) in the 200 meter dash. Heck also teamed up with Josh Gregory, Daniel Ly and Tim Vaughan-Ogunlusi to take third place in the 4x100 relay (46.72).

The Garnet men had a strong showing in the 800 meter run, as freshman Jonas Oppenheimer (2:01.76) finished fourth and junior Aidan DuMont-McCaffrey finished seventh (2:04.54).

Senior David D'Annunzio - a soccer star new to the track team in his final semester at the College - looked impressive in the 3,000 steeplechase, finishing third with a time of 10:48.02.

In the triple jump, freshman Zach Kronstat (11.49m) and junior Aaron Moser (11.26m) finished first and second.

Finally in the javelin, junior Liam Epstein (37.91m) and senior Chris Shea (35.25m) finished fifth and sixth respectively.

Swarthmore returns to action on Saturday with the Moravian Invitational.
