season, finishing the 5,000 meter run in a time of 15:10.44, which

2011 Outdoor
Season (9th Place Centennials)
A tremendous season from Jacob Phillips ’13 culminated with a pair of great runs. In the 10,000 meter run at the Centennial Championships, he recorded the second-fastest time (31:48.17) in program history. Just over week later, at the season-ending Swarthmore Last Chance Meet, he took second-place all-time in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:58.39. Phillips trails only former All-American Marc Jeuland ’01 in the all-time record book in both events.
The Centennial Championships produced several other exemplary performances. Daniel Ly ’12 brought home a bronze medal for a second-consecutive season, this time in the men’s high jump, thanks to a season-best high jump of 1.75 meters. Senior Chris Mayer-Bacon ’11 capped his Garnet career with fourth place in 400-meter hurdles (57.18) and fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (16.56). Junior Chris Wickham ’12 ran a strong race in the 3000-meter steeplechase to earn seventh place with a season-best time of 9:52.66.
