Men's Indoor Track & Field Finishes Ninth at Centennial Championships

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Led by senior Chris Mayer-Bacon and junior Daniel Ly, the Swarthmore College men's indoor track & field team finished in ninth place at the Centennial Conference Indoor Championships from Haverford College on Saturday afternoon.

Mayer-Bacon took sixth in the 55 meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.56, a time which ranks eighth on the Garnet's all-time list.

Ly took sixth in the triple jump (13.00m) and eighth in the long jump (5.97m).

In the relays, the Garnet's best finish came in the distance medley, as the team of junior Henry Ainley, sophomore John McMinn, sophomore Aidan DuMont-McCaffrey and freshman  Jake Weiner took sixth place with a time of 10:59.59.

The 4 x 200 relay team earned an all-time top time, as the team of sophomore Matthew Heck, Mayer-Bacon, sophomore Travis Mattingly, and Ainley finished in a time of 1:39.81, which ranks ninth all-time.

Overall, the Garnet men finished in ninth place with 10 points.
