Phillips Paces Men's Indoor Track & Field at Boston Valentine Invitational
BOSTON - Sophomore Jacob Phillips continued his string of impressive performances, finishing the 5,000 meter run in a time of 15:10.44, which ranks eighth all-time on the College's all-time list and was nearly 40 seconds faster than his career-best time to lead the Swarthmore College men's indoor track & field team at the Boston University Valentine Invitational over the weekend.
A small contingent of Garnet athletes traveled north to face competition across all three divisions at the invitational with less than two weeks to prepare for the Centennial Conference Championships.
Junior Daniel Ly posted a season-best 43-04.50 jump in the triple jump, while reaching 19-03.50 in the long jump.
In the one mile run, sophomore Aidan DuMont-McCaffrey crossed the finish line in a season-best time of 4:31.73.
Swarthmore's full squad returns to action with its final tune-up before the Centennial Conference Championships when it travels to the NYU Invitational next Saturday.
