Kelm, Bressman and Kaye Named All-Centennial

LANCASTER, Pa. - Three members of the Swarthmore College men's tennis team - senior Zak Kelm, senior Max Bressman and sophomore Max Kaye - have been named to the 2011-12 All-Centennial Conference Men's Tennis Team, the conference announced Thursday morning. Kelm is a first team singles selection, Bressman is a second team singles and doubles selection, teaming with Kaye for the doubles honor.

Kelm (Cleveland, Ohio/University School) finished the season 7-11 in singles action, playing mainly from the No. 1 position, including a 3-3 mark in Centennial competition.

Bressman (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greenley) is on the All-Centennial Team for the second consecutive season. The senior captain posted the best overall singles record of anyone on the team, finishing the 2011-12 campaign 14-5 and 4-1 in Centennial play.

Kaye (Palm Beach, Fla./Benjamin) is also a repeat All-Centennial selection. The sophomore teammed with Bressman to finish the season 3-3 playing at No. 1 doubles. Kaye was twice honored as the Centennial Conference Player of the Week during the 2011-12 season.

Thanks to the play of Kelm, Bressman and Kaye, the men's tennis team saw a resurgence in 2011-12, returning to the national rankings for the first time since 2007, defeating three nationally-ranked opponents and reaching the Centennial Conference Championship Match.
