No. 20 Men's Tennis Dominates Muhlenberg, 9-0
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The No. 20 Swarthmore College men's tennis team (7-7, 2-1) rebounded from its tough loss to No. 4 Johns Hopkins by not dropping a single set to visiting Muhlenberg, easily defeating the Mules 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
In singles play, sophomore Anthony Collard was an easy winner at the No. 1 position over Muhlenberg's Jordan Rutt, 6-0 and 6-1. At No. 2, sophomore Max Kaye handled Daniel Lakhman 6-3 and 6-2. Sophomore Preston Poon had little trouble No. 3 over the Mules' Jason Teitelbaum, 6-2 and 6-2. From No. 4, freshman Irving Stone trounced Eric Chavis 6-3, 6-2. Finally, sophomore Christian Carcione (6-0, 6-1) and junior Malik Mubeen (6-0, 6-0 pictured) had easy wins to finish the sweep.
In doubles action, the teams Kaye/Carcione (8-4), senior Max Bressman/Collard (8-1), and freshman Max Sacks/junior Seth Udelson (8-3) all won in dominant fashion.
The Garnet steps away from Centennial action on Saturday when it travels to Vassar, the No. 11 team in the Northeast region. Play is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
