Garnet Men Fight Hard, But Fall to Johns Hopkins 6-0 in Centennial Title Match
BALTIMORE
- Johns Hopkins captured its fourth consecutive Centennial
Conference championship, besting the Swarthmore College men's
tennis team 6-0 on Sunday afternoon from Baltimore.
The victory in the title match is the Blue Jays' second in as many years over Swat - but it didn't come easy, as the Garnet fought hard, losing close decisions at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles before eventually succumbing in singles play.
With the defeat, Swarthmore (10-10) must now await word from the NCAA selection committee about a potential at-large bid to the NCAA Championships.
