Flaherty, Satre Earn Medals to Lead Men's Swimming on Final Day of Centennial Championships
GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Sophomore John Flaherty once again led the Swarthmore men's swim team as the Garnet earned a fifth-place finish in the final day of the Centennial Conference Championship meet.
After winning the 400 IM on Saturday, Flaherty earned a silver medal in the 200 butterfly, swimming a fast 1:55.70.
The Garnet's other medal winner was junior Josh Satre (pictured), who took home a bronze medal in the 1650 freestyle (16:48.80).
Other notable swims included senior Tim Brevart's 7th-place 100 freestyle (47.30), sophomore Peter Ballen's 11th-place 1650 (17:32.36), juniors Charlie Hepper (6th, 1:58.40) and Daniel Duncan (9th, won B-final, 1:58.46) in the 200 butterfly, senior Neil Palmer (13th, 2:02.19), junior Roger Chin (14th, 2:03.24), and sophomore Cyrus Nasseri (15th, 2:06.37) in the 200 backstroke, and junior Lance Liu (8th, 2:17.00), senior Dante Fuoco (10th, 2:14.52) and sophomore Zach Gavin (12th, 2:16.56) in the 200 breaststroke.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Brevart, Duncan, Flaherty, and Palmer took fifth place in the last event of the meet.
