Men's Swimming in Fifth Place After Day One of Centennial Conference Championships

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Led by sophomore John Flaherty, the Swarthmore College men swimming team wrapped up its first night of Centennial Conference Championship meet on Friday night in Gettysburg.

To open things up, the team of senior Tim Brevart, freshman Max Krackow, junior Daniel Duncan, and senior Lance Liu (pictured), the Garnet men placed sixth in the 200 freestyle relay (1:28.14).

Junior Josh Satre had a respectable fourteenth-place finish in the 500 freestyle (4:51.01) and sophomore Peter Ballen was close behind (17th place - 4:56.52).

Swimming well for the Garnet was Flaherty, who placed sixth in the 200 IM (1:58.20). Teammate Duncan was not far away with a fourteenth place finish (2:00.36).

The relay team of Liu, Duncan, Brevart, and junior Roger Chin rounded things out with a sixth place finish in the 400 medley relay (3:37.56).

The men ended the meet in fifth place (94 points) and hope to keep their eyes on the prize as they head into the second day of the Centennial Conference Championship. Action is slated for 11:30 a.m. (preliminaries) and 7:00 p.m. (finals).
