Men's Swimming Drops Dual Meet Finale to Dickinson, 121-84
CARLISLE, Pa. - In its final tune-up of the season before Conference Championships, the Swarthmore men's swim team showed strength but ultimately fell to the Dickinson Red Devils by a 121-84 score.
Despite the loss, individual performances by Garnet men were promising as the team gears up for the championship meet. Junior Josh Satre (10:32.25) and sophomore Peter Ballen (10:40.64) (pictured) touched 1-2 in the 1000 freestyle; junior Daniel Duncan won the 200 freestyle (1:49.04) and barely missed first place in the 500 freestyle (5:04.64); sophomore John Flaherty won the 200 IM (2:02.45) and finished a close second in the 200 backstroke (2:02.55); and senior sprinter Tim Brevart swam impressive times in the 50 (21.78) and the 100 (49.11) freestyle races.
Centennial Conference Championships will take place at Gettysburg on February 17-19.
