Defending Centennial Champ Gettysburg Bests Men's Swimming on Senior Day

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - A valiant Senior Day effort from the Swarthmore men's swim team proved futile as the undefeated Gettysburg Bullets dominated Ware Pool by 150-55 score on Saturday.  The loss drops the Garnet men to 4-3 in dual meet competition with one matchup left.

Senior Day ceremonies honored Tim Brevart, Sam Bullard-Sisken, Dante Fuoco, Lance Liu, Neil Palmer, and Travis Pollen in the final home meet of their college careers.

Swarthmore's lone individual victory came from junior Josh Satre, as he won the 1000 freestyle (10:22.79); however, the Garnet benefitted from several other fast swims.  Brevart missed first place in the 50 freestyle by a mere 7-100ths of a second (22.01), junior Daniel Duncan took a close second in the 200 IM (2:03.55) and 500 freestyle (5:00.02), sophomore John Flaherty was less than a second from first in the 200 butterfly (2:04.74), and sophomore Zach Gavin turned in a strong second-place showing in the 200 breaststroke (2:20.70).

The last dual meet of the season will take place next Saturday, as the Garnet travels to Dickinson.  Action is set to begin at 2 pm.
