Men's Swimming Narrowly Edged by Ursinus, 110-95

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Despite solid showings from the usual suspects, the Swarthmore men's swim team (2-2, 1-2) could not overcome the depth of the Ursinus Bears' roster, taking a close 110-95 defeat at Ware Pool on Tuesday.

The Garnet touched first in the opening 200 medley relay, as junior Roger Chin and seniors Lance Liu (pictured), Tim Brevart, and Sam Bullard-Sisken teamed up for a fast 1:39.78.  Although the team was ultimately edged in the final scoring, Swarthmore battled throughout the individual events, winning four at the hands of Brevart and sophomore John Flaherty.   Brevart swept the sprint freestyle events (21.92 and 49.76) while Flaherty won the 200 IM (2:01.99) and the 500 freestyle (5:01.92).

Notable swims were also recorded by senior Dante Fuoco (2nd, 200 breaststroke, 2:19.97), sophomore Peter Ballen (3rd, 1000 freestyle, 10:40.49; 3rd, 500 free, 5:03.61), and freshman Max Krackow (3rd, 50 freestyle, 22.90; 3rd, 100 freestyle, 50.83).

Swarthmore finishes the first half of the season on December 2-3, hosting the Swarthmore Invite at Ware Pool.
