LANCASTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's lacrosse team (4-6, CC 1-3) was dealt a tough conference loss by homestanding Franklin and Marshall (8-3, CC 5-2) on Saturday afternoon, falling 12-4.
Swarthmore's offense struggled all afternoon against a tough Diplomats' defense, scoring only four goals for the game. Freshman Ian Lukaszewicz led the offense with two goals and an assist. Senior Max Hubbard and sophomore Jonathan Molloy rounded out the Garnet scoring. Sophomore Keane Ehsani (pictured) played a tough game in the midfield, leading the team with three ground balls.
Junior Jordan Barr led the Dips potent offense with three goals, while junior A.J. Reichert added two. Senior Colin Mckew was responsible for four F&M goals, recording three assists and netting a goal of his own.
In the second half, senior captain Hubbard opened up the scoring in the third period, but the Diplomats responded with five unanswered goals to close out the quarter, making it a 10-2 game and putting any thoughts of a Garnet comeback out of reach.
From a defensive perspective, Swarthmore senior goalkeeper Michael Brockway made 10 saves and sophomore Jonathan Cohen saw time as well making one save in the final 4 minutes. For the Diplomats, senior Connor Reymann and Cameron Satien combined for 4 saves.
After three straight losses, Swarthmore will take a break from Centennial conference play, hoping to rebound at home against Drew on Wednesday April 11th. Play is set for 7:30.
