Garnet Golf Finishes First at Swarthmore Invitational
SPRINGFIELD, Pa. – On a day marked by heavy wind gusts and a random rain shower, the Swarthmore “A” Team finished atop the leaderboard in the Garnet's first home match of the spring with a score of 315. Sophomore Andrew Park’s hot streak continued as he shot a best-of-the-field 73. This marks the third event in a row in which Park has held the top spot among Swat golfers.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College golf team’s 2011-2012 season was easily the most successful in program history. For the second time in less than seven months, the squad broke the program scoring record with a 294 at the Immaculata Invitational in late October. In addition, Jeff Wall ‘14 broke the school’s individual scoring record with a round of 69 at the Swarthmore Invitational in mid-September.

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Centennial Conference has named 57 Swarthmore College student-athletes to its 2012 Spring Academic Honor Roll, as announced on Tuesday. The honor roll recognizes athletes' performance both on the field and in the classroom. To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, a starter or key reserve on his or her team or have qualified for the Conference championship meet. The student must maintain at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average.

PALMERTON, Pa. - The Swarthmore golf team traveled to the Blue Ridge Country Club for its final round on the course before the Conference Championships in the Messiah Falcon Classic and proved it meant business, shooting a team score of 317 to finish second in the field of 16 teams and first among all Division III competitors. Sophomore Sam White led the way for the Garnet, shooting a 78 and finished tied for fifth place in the field of 90.

ELVERSON, Pa. - Freshman Amanda Beebe posted an 84 on Tuesday afternoon at the Stonewall Golf Club to win the Ursinus Women's Invitational after a matching of the cards. Beebe's 84 matched Muhlenberg's Christina Bryde but Beebe edged her out.

SPRINGFIELD, Pa. - Led by a low score, 79, from freshman Andrew Park, the Swarthmore golf team fought off 40 mph wind gusts and posted a team score of 327 to edge Drexel's 329 and win the quad match at Rolling Green Country Club. Penn St.-Harrisburg finished third on the day, shooting a 348 as a team while Widener rounded out the scores with a 381.

PALMERTON, Pa. - The Swarthmore golf team fell only four strokes shy of first place at the Dickinson Invitational on Wednesday afternoon with senior Paul Weston and freshman Andrew Park posting a pair of 76's to lead the Garnet to a 312 team score at Blue Ridge Country Club. Franklin & Marshall and McDaniel both recorded team scores of 308 to lead the day but the Diplomats came out on top after reviewing scorecards to capture the title.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College golf team’s 2011 spring season was highlighted with success and disappointment. They broke the school team scoring record of 305 with a score of 303. Furthermore, the team beat all Centennial Conference teams in the same tournament for the first time ever with a 2nd place finish at the McDaniel Spring Invitational. Despite the team’s success, the team fell short of its goal, winning the Centennial Conference Championship, with a disappointing fifth-place finish.

Swarthmore finished third as a team thanks to a breakthrough performance on day two where the team shot a school record 294.

WILMINGTON, Del. - The Swarthmore men's golf team finished fourth at the Wilmington University Spring Classic 36-hole tournament on Saturday afternoon. After posting a 307 as a team on the first 18 hole loop the Garnet came back around to shoot a school record 303 on the second 18. The tournament hosted teams in Division I, II and III including Wilmington and Bucknell Universities.

Wet Golf Course No Worry for Weston as Golf Takes Second
SPRINGFIELD, PA – Junior Paul Weston shot a 74 to lead the Swarthmore “A” golf team to a second place spot in soggy conditions on Monday afternoon at the Rolling Green Golf Club. Swarthmore carded a 313 as a team, finishing behind LaSalle University who scored a 300 for the match.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - In 2010, the Swarthmore College golf team was plagued by rainy weather in the beginning of the spring and a lack of depth all season long. But with the return of its top three Centennial Conference performers from 2010 and a bevy of talented newcomers, the hope is that 2011 will be a turnaround season for the Garnet, with the squad setting its sights on battling for a conference title.

Knapp Leads Garnet Golf to 6th Place Finish in the Muhlenberg Fall Invitational
Allentown, Pa. - Freshman Kyle Knapp fired an 81 to tie for 11th place in a field of 56 players to lead the Garnet golf team at the Muhlenberg Fall Invitational on Monday at Lehigh Country Club. Swarthmore would shoot a total score of 346, placing them in 6th out of 11 teams. The golfing conditions were tough, complete with rain and lightning fast greens. In addition, the Swarthmore team would only span four players, instead of the usual five.

Garnet Golf Fights Through Heavy Rain to Take Seventh in Swarthmore College Invitational
WILMINGTON, Del. – Monday afternoon brought cold weather, heavy winds and blistering rain but it wasn’t enough to stop the Swarthmore College golf team and 14 other teams from golfing in the Swarthmore College Invitational where LaSalle University would capture the crown with a low score of 316. The Garnet would finish seventh with a score of 340.

Weston Ties for Fifth in Centennial Conference Championships; Team Finishes Sixth
ELVERSON, Pa. - The Swarthmore College golf team dropped a few spots on Sunday at the Centennial Conference golf championships at the Stonewall Golf Club shooting a 971 over the three rounds and finishing sixth in the tournament. Franklin & Marshall would take home the title with a 910.

Weston Tied for Second After Round One of Centennial Conference Golf Championships
ELVERSON, Pa. - The Swarthmore College golf team sits in fourth place after round one of the Centennial Conference golf championships with a score of 315. Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg share the lead with 305. Sophomore Paul Weston leads the Garnet, finishing the first 18 holes tied for second place with score of 74, trailing the leader by two strokes.

Swat Golf Victorious At Widener Invitational
WILMINGTON, Del. – The Swarthmore College golf team fought through 25 mile per hour wind gusts on Monday afternoon to win the Widener Invitational with a low score of 309, finishing ahead of Cabrini College (322). The win gives the Garnet golf team its third straight tournament victory and fifth of the season. The Garnet also sealed another victory over Widener in the 320 Challenge as Swat would beat out the Pride by 24 strokes.

Nichamin Leads Swat Golf to First-Place Finish at Philadelphia University Tri-Match
LAFAYETTE HILL, PA- Sophomore Alex Nichamin tied for first place with a 79 while sophomore Paul Weston wasn't far behind, finishing in third place with an 80 to lead the Swarthmore College golf team to a first-place finish at the Philadelphia University Tri-Match at the ACE Club from Lafayette Hill on Saturday afternoon.

ELVERSON, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's golf team finished sixth in a field of 13 at the Ursinus Invitational on a rainy Tuesday from Stonewall Golf Club. The Garnet brought in a score of 334, edging Cabrini by two strokes.

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Sophomore Paul Weston finished strong on the final day of the McDaniel Spring Golf Invitational shooting a 76, holding onto second place in the field of 78 golfers. Weston shot six over par in the tournament leading the Garnet on Sunday afternoon at the Bridges Golf Club.

WILMINGTON, Del. - The Swarthmore College golf team earned a fifth place finish with a score of 307 in the Wilmington University Spring Golf Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The impressive season-opening score of 308 is just three strokes off of the all-time program low of 305.

WILMINGTON, Del. – Josh Feldschneider of Rutgers-Camden shot an even-par 71 to capture first place at the inaugural Swarthmore Fall Invitational from Rock Manor Country Club in Wilmington, Delaware. Rutgers-Camden also captured the team title, shooting a combined 312 for first place.

Golf Opens Fall Season at Lebanon Valley
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Sophomore Paul Weston shot a team-best six-over-par 78 to finish in the Top 20, while sophomore Alex Nichamin shot an 11-over-par 81 (36th) to pace the Swarthmore golf team at the Lebanon Valley College Fall Invitational on Monday. As a team, the Garnet finished with a score of 330, good for 11th place in the upper-half of the 24-team field.
