Park, Beebe Lead Garnet Golf at Swarthmore Fall Invitational
WILMINGTON, Del. - Sophomore Andrew Park finished tied for third place with a team-best 75 to lead the host Swarthmore College golf team at the annual Swarthmore Fall Invitational from the Rock Manor Golf Club on Monday afternoon.
With Park leading the way, the Garnet finished with a team score of 333, good for a sixth-place tie with Centennial rival Ursinus.
Junior Price Ferchill carded Swarthmore's next best score (80) to finish tied for 14th overall in a field of 62.
Rounding out the the Garnet's top five finishers were junior Miles Schuck (83/24th), freshman Andrew Pak (84/26th) and freshman Jeremy Chang (85/28th).
Drexel claimed both the team and individual men's championship. The Dragons finished with a team score of 310, easily besting runners-up Arcadia and University of the Sciences (329). Drexel's Chris Crawford won the individual championship with a 72, edging Ursinus' Russell Hill by one stroke.
In the women's invitational also held at Rock Manor, sophomore Amanda Beebe earned second place with a score of 84, finishing four strokes behind Arcadia's Shannon Mossett (80).
The Garnet returns to action with McDaniel's Mason Dixon Classic October 6 and 7.
