Weston, Golf Team Move Up the Leaderboard on Day Two of Conference Tournament;Beebe in Third in Women's Tourney

RESULTS

HARRISBURG, Pa. - After a tough first day, senior Paul Weston and the Swarthmore men's golf team made moves on day two of the Centennial Conference championship tournament.  The teams shot a 306 to move up to third place while Weston shot the best round of the day with a one-under 71 to move up nine spots and is now tied for second with Dickinson's Arthur Worthington.

Weston's 71 equaled the Conference championship record for low round.

After today's round, all five of Swat's golfers are currently sitting in the top 20 of the tournament. 

Freshman Andrew Park improved by seven strokes and posted an 85 to move up in the standings to ninth place. Sophomore Sam White moved up a few spots as well with his 79 and is tied for 12th. 

Sophomore Kyle Knapp posted Swarthmore's fourth low score of the day, shooting an 81 while sophomore Jeff Wall carded an 82.  Knapp is currently tied for 17th and Wall sits in 15th. 

In the women's Conference championship tournament, freshman Amanda Beebe shot an 85 on day one and is currently tied for third place with Gettysburg's Lauren Sobotka.

Men's play resumes on Sunday, April 29th for the final day of the Conference Championship.  Players begin to tee-off at 9:00 AM.  Beebe will also tee off at 9:00 AM on Sunday for her final round of the championships.
