Golf Sits in Fourth Place After Day 1 of Centennial Championships

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Senior Paul Weston and sophomore Jeff Wall each posted a team-low 80 to lead the Swarthmore College golf team on the first day of the three-day Centennial Conference Championship from the Blue Ridge Country Club.

As a team, the Garnet battled cold and windy conditions to finish with a 324, good for fourth place. Host Dickinson and Franklin & Marshall are currently tied for the lead with a score of 314. McDaniel sits in the third place with a 323.

In the standings, Weston and Wall find themselves tied for 10th place overall. Freshman Andrew Park and sophomore Sam White both shot 82, good for 16th place. Sophomore Kyle Knapp rounded out the squad with an 83.

Swarthmore looks to rebound with Day 2 of the competition beginning Saturday morning.
