White, Golf Team Shine at Messiah Falcon Classic with Second Place Finish
PALMERTON, Pa. - The Swarthmore golf team traveled to the Blue Ridge Country Club for its final round on the course before the Conference Championships in the Messiah Falcon Classic and proved it meant business, shooting a team score of 317 to finish second in the field of 16 teams and first among all Division III competitors.
Sophomore Sam White led the way for the Garnet, shooting a 78 and finished tied for fifth place in the field of 90.
Franklin & Marshall finished three strokes behind Swat and tied for third with Albright College.
Senior Paul Weston came in tied for ninth place, just behind White, carding a 79. Sophomores Kyle Knapp and Jeff Wall rounded out the top four Garnet players. Knapp shot an 81 and tied for 23rd while Wall shot an 84 and tied for 36th.
The Swarthmore golf team returns to the Blue Ridge Country Club on Friday, April 27 for the first round of the three-day Centennial Conference Championship tournament.
