Golf Fights Through Windy Conditions on Day One of National Collegiate Invitational, Sit in Sixth with a 328

HERSHEY, Pa. - The Swarthmore golf team battled windy conditions on Easter Sunday in the National Collegiate Invitational and shot a team score of 328, currently putting them in sixth place in the field of 14 teams.  St. John Fisher College leads the tournament after day one with 313.  

Senior Paul Weston led the young Garnet squad, posting a team low 79 and sits in 10th place in the individual standings.  

Swarthmore sits only five strokes back of the second place Allegheny College team, thanks to some solid play from Weston, freshman Andrew Park and sophomores Sam White, Kyle Knapp and Jeff Wall

Park carded an 80, only one stroke off of Weston while White shot an 83.  Knapp brought in Swat's fourth low score with an 86 and Wall closed out the top five with an 87.

Swarthmore will try to make a push for a top three finish on day two on the Invitational on Monday, April 9.  Tee-off starts at 9:00 AM.
