Weston Leads Golf to Third Place Finish at Scarlet Raptors Spring Invitational
PENNSAUKEN, N.J. - Junior Paul Weston tied for second place with a 76, leading the Swarthmore golf team to a third place finish in the Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptors Spring Golf Invitational at the Pennsauken Country Club on Friday afternoon.
As a team, the Garnet shot at 325 behind tournament champion Penn St. - Abington (319) and Cabrini College (324).
Weston's 76 secured him a second place finish for the third time this season. Penn St. - Abington's John Haldis also brought in a 76 to tie Weston for the second place spot.
Sam White continued his strong freshman campaign with another top ten finish, carding a 79 to finish in eight place overall in the field of 65 golfers.
Freshman Kyle Knapp came in with Swat's next low score with an 84 while fellow freshman Jeff Wall rounded out the Garnet's top four scores shooting an 86.
Freshman Price Ferchill shot a 90 in Swarthmore number five spot.
Swarthmore returns to action on Sunday when it travels to the Jersey shore to compete at Richard Stockton in Atlantic City. Tee-off is set to begin at 1:00 PM.
