Men's Basketball Releases 2012-13 Schedule
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College's men's basketball team has released its schedule for the 2012-2013 season.
For the first time in 25 years, the Garnet will begin the season under the direction of a new head coach as Landry Kosmalski, who was hired in the spring from Davidson College, steps in for Lee Wimberly.
The team opens the season co-hosting the 21st Annual Equinox Classic with games against Roanoke on November 16 and Connecticut College on the 17th.
Three days later on November 20, the Garnet travels to Carlisle, Pa. for its conference-opener against Dickinson, who was a semifinalist in last year's Centennial Championship tournament.
On December 1, the team returns to Tarble Pavilion for its Centennial home opener against Ursinus.
Over winter break, Swarthmore will compete in the Comfort Inn Classic in Maryland. On December 29, the Garnet will take on host St. Mary's and then face Old Westbury on the 30th.
After break, the Garnet hosts rival Haverford on January 23 as they compete for the Hood Trophy. On February 9, the team hosts reigning Centennial champion and 2012 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight participant Franklin and Marshall.
Closing the schedule is a rivalry game at Haverford on February 16.
