Did You Know?
- Swarthmore field hockey won three consecutive Centennial Championships in 1995, 1996, and 1997. In 1997, the team won the ECAC South Championship as well. The team was led by Danielle Duffy ’98, the program’s all-time leading scorer and a 1st team Academic and Athletic All-American in 1998.
- Taking the field for the first time in 1906, the Swarthmore field hockey program is one of the oldest in the sport.
- Eleanor Kay “Pete” Hess, a pioneer for women’s college athletics, is Swarthmore’s all-time winningest coach in both field hockey and badminton.
