Gabby Capone Named Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – Swarthmore College junior goalkeeper Gabby Capone has been named the Centennial Conference field hockey Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending on September 2, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Capone registered eight saves and permitted just one goal for an .889 save percentage in leading the Garnet to the Drew Fall Festival title over the weekend. She turned away seven shots in the 2-0 win vs. Cabrini for her third career shutout.

The accolade is the second of Capone's collegiate career, with the first coming last October.

The Garnet returns to action on Thursday, September 6^th with a road trip to Richard Stockton slated to begin at 4:00 p.m.
