Six Swarthmore Student-Athletes Named to Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team
Lancaster, Pa. - Six Swarthmore student-athletes have been named to the 2010 Fall All-Centennial Sportsmanship Team, the Conference announced on Wednesday morning.
The Centennial Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) established the All-Sportsmanship team in 2007. Each team elected a member from their squad who displayed good sportsmanship throughout the season to be selected to the All-Centennial sportsmanship team.

LANCASTER, Pa. - Senior Sophia Agathis scored her fifth goal of the year in Saturday afternoon’s contest against Franklin & Marshall, but it was not enough to spark the offense as the Garnet (6-12, 3-7) dropped its final game of the 2010 season to the Diplomats by a 3-1 score at F&M’s Tylus Field.

Swarthmore, Pa. - Playing her final game at Clothier Field Stadium, senior Sophia Ferguson scored a late second-half goal for the Swarthmore College field hockey team (6-11, 3-6), but visiting Haverford scored four goals in each half en route to the 8-1 victory over the Garnet on a wet Wednesday afternoon.

Teleky, Jones Lead Field Hockey Past Muhlenberg 3-0
SWARTHMORE, Pa. Sophomore forward Katie Teleky scored two goals in the first half while Nia Jones added a late insurance goal as the Swarthmore College field hockey team (6-7, 3-2) rolled over Muhlenberg (1-10, 1-4) by a 3-0 score on Wednesday afternoon from Clothier Field.
For the Garnet, who have won three of four games, the sixth win of the season is the most by any field hockey squad since head coach Lauren Fuchs took over in 2008. The Garnets 3-2 Centennial Conference record marks the first time the team has been above .500 in conference play five or more conference games into the season since 2006, and also equals the most conference victories by any Swarthmore squad since 2007.

POMONA, N.J. - The Swarthmore College field hockey team finished 4-for-4 in penalty strokes following two scoreless overtime periods, as the Garnet (2-0) prevailed over homestanding Richard Stockton 2-1 (2 OT) on Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore Catie Meador, sophomore Julia Tallarico , senior Devon Novotnak and finally senior Sophia Ferguson all converted their penalty strokes following the second overtime period while the Osprey could only connect on 1-of-4, leaving the Garnet with the thrilling victory.

Ferguson, Ranshous Earn Centennial Conference Player of the Week Honors

Senior forward Sophia Ferguson took the offensive honor, while sophomore defender Alison Ranshous claimed the defensive award.
