Sam Menzin, Swarthmore Class of 2012, spent all four of his college years on the Garnet baseball team. Upon graduation, he took his involvement with the game to another level, taking a position as an intern in the front office of the Detroit Tigers Major League Baseball team. The Tigers captured the 2012 American League Championship and reached the World Series, ultimately falling to the San Francisco Giants. SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Immaculata (1-5) pounded out nine runs on 12 hits while pitcher Aaron Dietrich held Swarthmore (3-6) to only two runs and six hits as the Garnet fell 9-2 in its home opener on Wednesday afternoon from Clothier Field.

PEORIA, Ariz. - The Swarthmore College baseball team's Spring Break trip ended in heartbreaking fashion, as a wild pitch from sophomore Zach Weiner in the bottom of the 10th inning proved to be the difference as Wesleyan rallied from a four-run eighth inning deficit to defeat the Garnet 11-10 in 10 innings on Friday afternoon from the Padres Spring Training Facility in Peoria, Arizona.

BOULDER CREEK, Ariz. – Fantastic pitching performances from sophomores Neil Mejia and Kyle Crawford highlighted the Swarthmore College baseball team’s season-opening sweep of Presentation (S.D.) in the first day of the Desert Classic. The Garnet (2-0) won the first game 5-3 - thanks in part to a three-run rally in the top of seventh inning – while dominating the second game 6-0.
