Eric Pearlman is in his second season as an assistant coach at Swarthmore College. Last year, he was in charge of working with the catchers. As his role expanded throughout the season, he began to get involved in all phases of the baseball program. Along with working with the catchers, Coach Pearl has taken over duties as the pitching coach and the recruiting coordinator.
A former catcher at West Chester University, Pearlman helped West Chester win its first regional championship in 2006 and the school’s first trip to the Division II College World Series in Montgomery, Alabama. During his time at West Chester University, he was part of the most successful four years in program history.
Prior to his coaching duties at Swarthmore College, Pearlman came from his alma mater Harriton Senior High school in the Lower Merion School District, where he was all-state in baseball and soccer. He graduated from Harriton in 2004 and helped Harriton’s baseball team win its first conference championship in over 25 seasons. He holds several school records in baseball and soccer. After graduating he served three years as the varsity baseball and freshman soccer coach.
Pearlman has also spent time coaching travel soccer for the elite Lower Merion Soccer Club, as well as coaching several teams for the Muckdawgs baseball program. Pearlman, a very passionate, dedicated coach, brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the Swarthmore baseball staff.
