  • Former baseball star Dick Hall ‘52 played in the major leagues for 19 seasons. He spent nine season with the Baltimore Orioles, helping the O’s win the 1966 and 1970 World Series and earning a spot in the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame.
  • Baseball’s Steve Farneth ’00 threw one of two complete game no-hitters in Centennial Conference play, an 8-0 win over Haverford in 1997.
  • Six former Swarthmore baseball players have played in the major leagues: Twink Twining, Jack Ogden, Curly Ogden, Henry Baldwin, and George Earnshaw all played at Swarthmore and the majors in the 1910s and 20s, while Dick Hall played from 1952 to 1971.
